Rodney Hatfield
RODNEY HATFIELD came out of the hills of Kentucky just as soon as he was able. A descendant of the legendary feuding clan, Hatfield grew up around coal mining. There he was surrounded by the raw energies of faith healers, religious mystics, snake handlers, and musicians. When he started to put it all down on canvas, people instantly recognized it as the real thing. Working with oil, encaustic, and acrylics, as well as found materials, Hatfield is fearless with color and representation. Among many exhibitions and accolades, Rodney’s work is featured at the Selby Fleetwood Gallery in Santa Fe, published by American Art Collector, and collected by actors Gene Hackman, Liam Neeson, and film director John Irvin. Rodney is also a serious blues harmonica player with the band Tin Can Buddha.
